The 10 Laws for Selling Success

Sunday, November 8th, 2009
Drew Stevens asked:

Copyright (c) 2008 Drew Stevens PhD

Sales professionals must create magnetic appeal to increase closing efficiency. Our present global environment creates numerous obstacles that polarize sales efforts, form the proliferation of the Internet to advanced media. Ironically, with the intrigue of technological miracles the foundation of sales success exists upon 10 principles. Since the beginning of trade, selling has not changed, nor have these laws. These principles as they have for centuries are the laws that attract numerous clients and create successful selling professionals.

The Law of Preparation

The best selling professionals are always prepared. First, preparation begins with grooming and clothing. Like many, I am repulsed by numerous organizations that partake in casual clothing. To be successful one need look successful. A selling professional cannot attend an appointment in a T- Shirt and jeans. To be successful you need to dress successfully. Statistics for this article with over 1000 representatives illustrate that those dresses professionally closed 87% more business than those that didn?t.

More clients will be attracted to sellers because of the level of research converted into information that defines need. The knowledge output provides client value in terms of competitiveness, productivity and even profitability. Value stems from reading newspapers, trade publications and conducting research. When clients determine from the value professionals provide they are more apt to conduct business and moreover, use them repeatidly.

The Law of Selling Methodology

ES Research Group reveals that 90% of all sales training programs conducted for corporations result only in a 90-120 day increase in sales productivity and, as a result, fewer than 20% of companies realize any sustainable productivity gain that lasts beyond 12 months. In the United States alone over four billion dollars is spent per year on training selling professionals with two thirds of that money ear marked for one day training.

To be competitive, selling professionals must be competitive. It appears that taking the time to develop a training program does in fact pay tangible returns. More importantly is providing selling professionals with a methodology they adhere to and more importantly create attraction. The true competitive professional employs a methodology that stems from start to completion.

The Law of Value Proposition

One of the best assets for every selling professional is a value statement. Be mindful, this is not an elevator speech. This pithy statement ends the stereotype and focuses all attention completely on the prospective client. A value proposition is solutions based with all benefits focused on the consumer. Moreover, it denotes brand. A value proposition is nothing more than a benefit statement that offers to the client to improve their condition. Customer value propositions have become one of the most widely used terms in business markets. In 2006 the Harvard Business Review ?Customer Value Propositions in Business Markets? discussed how corporations use them in the branding process. Value propositions are a powerful marketing tool that are powerful and help gravitate the buyer to your direction. These simple statements enable selling professionals to articulate their company?s position into useful terminology that engages the prospective client.

The Law of Referrals

Proper attraction involves referral acquisition. Professionals abhor asking for referrals! Business is driven by the ability to ask for new business. If clients are happy with your work they will willingly provide others that can need to receive your value. There is a story of an insurance professional that would visit clients and not leave without three new referrals. Even if the client provided one or two, the agent would not leave until he received three or more. Needless to say, the agent retired an extremely wealthy individual.

The Law of the Decision Maker

Sales attraction is discovering the true economic buyer. 67% of selling professionals spend too much time with those that cannot make a decision. Sellers are not always prepared to ask the proper and difficult questions. Good detective work means asking the difficult questions. Detectives enjoy seeing the discomfort of others as they squirm to reply. Selling professionals must be intelligent enough to know about the organization, the competition to conduct and intellectual conversation. Research has found that the title never denotes the economic buyer. 87% of respondents in a research survey stipulated they underestimated the decision maker by virtue of title.

The Law of Value

There is a wonderful detective show in syndication on television entitled ?Monk?. The analytical detective works vehemently to resolve the case quickly. He eludes numerous hurdles yet in the end as the clich?tates, ?he always gets his man?. The same must hold true for selling professionals. True selling professionals endeavor to resolve client issues before the client understands the issue. In a recent interview with over 10,000 clients, they indicate their desire for sales professionals that can speak client language, understand the core issues and get to the heart of the matter expediently. Ask clients provocative questions that get them thinking about legacy, expectations and strategic direction.

The Law of Networking

Truly the best professionals constantly network. Selling professionals by nature require constant engagement with others to comprehend business trends and meet new opportunities. Admittedly, there exist a plethora of networking associations and organizations, choose those close to your location and aligned with your business. Review your local paper for functions that interest you and attend as a guest, but go! If you do not attend, your competitors are.

The Law of Desire

Successful professionals love challenges, are exceptional at overcoming adversity and love what they represent. They are never shy or non-conversant, and you can sense their spirit and their passion when they speak. There is a South African word called unbutu, meaning ?from the spirit.? Successful professionals have an aura of spirit, of love, of passion, of commitment in everything and anything that they do. The more you can create unbutu in your sales presentations and your sales, the more energetic and inspirational you can be to your clients. The passion for assisting others is the fuel that bounds from failure to fortune.

The Law of Faith

There is no better nourishment and attraction then faith. Faith is a component of both passion and love. Faith is the ability to disavow the norms and continue. Thomas Edison never failed, his faith in his abilities created a yearning to continue over 1000 times. If Henry Ford, and Andrew Carnegie did not have faith our American business system would not be the supreme power it is. And if Abraham Lincoln did not have faith, African Americans would not be free and his name would not be associated with America?s greatest president. In fact, faith was so imperative for Lincoln because his successes did not arrive until after his 40th birthday. Faith is one of the largest key components to the laws of selling attraction.

The Law of Success

I recall a young man that had limited athletic ability. He was reared in a dysfunctional home and loathed by family and friends. After much discovery he found an outlet in track and field. After years of searching he found a tool that displaced the discontent in his life. With much practice he got better and began to appreciate the sport. His success brought about future success. He visualized future success. Within months he became the captain of his team and a four-time school record holder. He also enrolled and graduated from a prominent university. Professionals have to breathe it, become it and yearn for it. Success does not come easy. The Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King jr. stated, ?Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.? Take the ladder of success one step at a time by seeing each step, living each step and appreciating each step.

These laws are simply a roadmap to creative success. These laws function similar to a GPS system. They become guideposts to recognize and live by. Our spontaneous world leaves little time to reflect, we must act quickly. The best professionals absorb, collate materials and create action. To live by these laws, do not procrastinate, act quickly, your next sale might depend on how you fight or side with the laws!

The Triple Click Online Garage Sale

Saturday, November 7th, 2009
Deneen S. asked:

People are always looking for easy ways to put some money in their pocket. And people also usually have items they no longer need or want. Children outgrow perfectly good toys. Teenagers outgrow perfectly good clothes. Adults outgrow perfectly good golf clubs. Indeed, millions of perfectly good products of all kinds are outgrown, abandoned, and retired everyday. These items almost always wind up in closets, attics, and garages, taking up valuable space while (usually) fading in value as they sit. But finally, someone has made it quick, simple, and easy to sell the stuff people no longer need for cash.

Meet Triple Clicks. With this private seller program, you can easily, and cheaply convert stuff you no longer want into stuff you do. List your stuff with Triple Clicks as your online garage sale to clean out closets, attics, and garages. People can list and sell dozens or even hundreds of miscellaneous items easily. And the timing couldn’t be better. With the huge downturn in the global economy, especially in the United States, demand for this type of service is skyrocketing. Indeed, we’ve learned that pawn shops are doing record business right now. Now everyone can tap into this same vein and earn great commissions.

There are still a number of substantial features yet to come at Triple Clicks. One of the biggest is the plan to give commercial sellers a place at the table. That is, they will be able to sell their goods and services alongside everything else in Triple Clicks. Imagine how many products would be available when this is in place! Many people are going to Triple Clicks as an additional source of income. To try this program for free, and an opportunity to place a free listing as well, visit www.tripleclicks.com/YES and place in the code number 10736197.

Cars For Sale, Cheap Cars For Sale

Used Cars For Sale asked:

Cars for Sale, Cheap Cars for Sale:

Who in their right mind would not like to buy a good used car for a very low price? Not many of us, that’s for sure. Most people love getting good deals and there are few products that many seem more obsessed about getting good deals on than cars.

While it’s possible to get a good deal on a new car, it is in the arena of pre-owned or used cars where it is possible to get some really good deals on cheap cars. And there are several ways to buy a cheap used car.

One can look through the local newspaper in order to find cheap cars for sale within the area where you live. While the selection of cheap used cars for sale listed in local newspapers is often very limited, great deals can sometimes be found, especially if you find a seller who is either lazy or does not know the value of the car they are selling.

A second way of buying a cheap car is through a used car dealership. Often used car dealerships have limited selection in the way of cars you can buy from them. Also, used car dealerships may sell the cars they have for sale at higher prices than what you could find if you buy a car from a private seller who advertises in the newspaper. However, many used car lots and used car dealerships do thoroughly examine the cars they sell. Now here is an opportunity for you to buy good condition cars at extremely low prices. Join now and get great deals on Cars for Sale / Cheap Cars for Sale.

Garage floor tiles: Cheap and long lasting flooring solution

Friday, November 6th, 2009
Kathleen Chester asked:

Garage floors get exposed to a variety of corrosive substances every day. Chemicals like grease, battery acids, antifreeze solutions, salt and motor oil can corrode garage floors made of concrete on prolonged exposure. The sad thing is that in spite of these risks, garage floor is often the most neglected portion of any house. People may put up granite or marble tiles in their kitchen and bathroom floors, but few ever pay much attention to the cold, damp garage floor. Putting up dry walls in a garage is a good choice to opt for but that still won’t protect the floor. Some form of protection for the garage floor is necessary, if it is to be expected to last long.

Garage floors can be protected from everyday corrosion by a variety of protective measures. Vinyl or lacquer paints can be applied to the floors. But the process is both time consuming and laborious. Not exactly the thing a busy professional can do in a short time period. For the people with little time in hand, garage floor tiles are the best options.

Garage floor tiles come in disposable packages and already have adhesives applied to the downside. These can be peeled off and pasted on the garage floor after it has been cleaned to make it free of grease and oil, just the way one would apply stickers. Minimal amount of equipments are required for the task. Just a pair of kneepads, a sharp utility knife (to cut the overlapping tiles to shape), and a measuring tape are needed to carry out the process. The time required is not too great either. One or two days of effort are usually enough. This makes it the ideal weekend project.

Garage floor tiles come in various colors, patterns, and shapes. The most popular patterns are ribbed, coin shaped, or diamond shaped. The tiles completely resist any sort of corrosive substance and can be washed, swept, or hosed to clean them. These are highly resistant to chipping and peeling, and can withstand the weight of even the heaviest vehicles. The tiles are also heat resistant and thus can be applied in any season.

The garage floor tiles can increase the market value of a house to some extent. If a house owner chooses to sell his/her house in future, the tiled garage floor will raise the price of the house to quite an extent and will also entice prospective buyers at the same time. Application of tiles on the garage floor is thus a good combination of protection and value addition for any house.

CHI Garage Doors Are Known For Their Quality

Friday, November 6th, 2009
Jim Kesel asked:

If you are searching for a quality garage door for your home you might want to consider CHI garage doors. CHI is known for its quality and durability. In terms of garage door pricing the company’s products are considered to be in the mid to upper price range. When it comes to garage doors it really is not smart to cut corners. In almost every case the garage door opening is potentially the weakest part of your homes structure. This is especially true if you live in areas that have severe thunderstorms, hurricanes or other high wind events. Experience has shown that once you lose your garage door the next thing you frequently lose is your roof.

CHI garage doors are featured as standard, medium, premium and carriage house lines. In recent years carriage garage doors have become very popular in new home construction. CHI garage doors have several designs that provide garage door that will accent many homes. The doors have a number of exterior facings that include wood, fiberglass or steel. Steel doors are probably the best door that you can purchase. They have a galvanized steel front and back with polyurethane foam insulation that gives a high insulating factor. Joints on all the CHI garage doors have either a tongue and groove or shiplap panel joints that will keep the outside elements out of your garage.

When building and designing your home make sure that your contractor and architect know that you want a good quality garage door included in the construction. CHI garage doors makes and sells a good number of standard and medium doors. While these doors are of good quality they are frequently called contractor doors by the building community. Again considering the risk of a failed garage door during a storm and/or lack of strength to deter illegal entry, cutting corners on your garage door just does not make senses.

We recommend that you consider double sided doors constructed of at least 26 gauge steel. The premium CHI garage doors achieve this bare minimum by using a combination of 27 and 25 gauge panels. However CHI garage doors do not meet the high wind codes of South Florida and other jurisdictions. CHI doors do feather polyurethane foam insulation that is sandwiched between two layers of steel that will provide some degree additional strength. Never the less if you live in an area with high wind risk it would be best to look to other manufactures.

If you are going to install a workshop in your garage or live in areas with extreme cold temperatures you should look for a garage door with a high R-rating. If the garage is going to be heated or air conditioned then you will want an R-value of at least 14. Unfortunately most of CHI garage doors do not meet this minimum standard. Many of CHI garage doors do provide R-values that range from 6 to 9 which is adequate for unheated garages.

In general CHI garage doors provide the quality you need to protect your home and provide the style and look to accent it beautifully.

5 Creative Garage Design Ideas

Wednesday, November 4th, 2009
Bruce Lipski asked:

If you are lucky, you have a big garage and have lots of extra room. Or maybe you have a two or three car garage but only one car to put in it. All that extra garage space can be put to good use for more things than just extra storage. Listed below are some great ideas of what you can do with that extra garage space:

1) The cool garage game room - Every guy would like to have his own space where he can get away and hang out. Depending how much you are into games and game machines, the garage is a perfect place if you have the space. There is no better area to put a real pinball machine or old arcade game or games. If you have the space and the money, you can really do it up right and turn part of your garage into a themed game room. You can put in carpet or some other surface underneath and put the appropriate memorabilia on the walls. Just remember to heat it properly in the winter if you live in a cold area.

2) The garage gym / workout area - Your garage is a great place to assemble a gym. One reason is that you can open the garage up any time to let fresh air in. You also might be able to worry less about the heavy gym equipment doing damage to the floors or walls. In the colder months the temperature might be just about right in the garage for a workout but the summer might be a bit hot. Make sure you have your garage heated or cooled correctly for the desired temperature.

3) The garage play room - This can only be done if you live in an environment where there are no big temperature swings. Turning the garage into a play area for the kids is something you might think of if you lack the extra room in your house. You would need to have that garage area carpeted and make sure it is safe just like you would for any other room. On nice days, the garage doors can be open or partially open if you like and if you have a system to make sure the kids don’t go in the street.

4) The garage workshop - This is a common one of course with the guys who traditionally have their tools stored in the garage. This is where many guys get away to build things or repair things or just to get away.

5) The sports themed garage - Some guys are into sports big time and need a place where they can go to watch sports, be with their sports equipment, work on their sports equipment, and just hang out. Turning your garage or part of it into a “shrine” for that favorite sports team is a way to make the guy happy and it keeps that stuff out of the house to make the wife happy. You can even put in a couch and a flat screen TV on the wall to make your sports garage complete.

Sell my House in Phoenix - In Record Time!

Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009
Reed Lattin asked:

When I needed to sell my house in Phoenix really quickly, I turned to a company that was willing to give me an offer on my house right away. I was in debt, and I knew my only solution was to sell my house in Phoenix. I had read on the Internet that there were places that would give you money right away, so I decided to call one of them to sell my Phoenix house. What I found was that when you factor in all of the costs associated with selling a house through a real estate agent, I was going to save money if I chose to sell my house in Phoenix to this company. I really needed to sell my home in Phoenix very quickly.

If I had to sell my house in Phoenix with a real estate agent, I would have been hit with many fees. I was not prepared to pay any fees at the time to sell my home in Phoenix. I did not have to pay any fees when I needed to sell my house in Phoenix with the company I chose. I was also very happy to see that when I did sell my house in Phoenix there were no closing costs involved to sell my Phoenix house. I did not have to worry about contingencies either. In other words, there was no initial cost involved, and no final closing cost.

To sell my house in Phoenix with this company was a delight. I was given an offer to sell my house in Phoenix the very next day after having contacted them. I accepted the offer to sell my house in Phoenix because it was a fair and honest offer. I was happy to sell my home in Phoenix to this company because it was fast and easy, with no hidden surprise costs. I just received my cash money when I did sell my house in Phoenix, and was able to put it towards a smaller house. I made the choice to sell my Phoenix house to avoid a foreclosure that was inevitable.

I was happy to get a smaller house, but when I need to sell my home in Phoenix someday, I will definitely return to the company I was dealing with. When I needed to sell my house in Phoenix very quickly, they helped me with all the paperwork to make it as simple as possible. I know that if I had used a real estate agent to sell my Phoenix house it would have been too confusing and a very lengthy process. That’s why when I did decide to sell my house in Phoenix, I chose the fastest and easiest method I could.

One important lesson that I learned while going through this experience to do research on the company you are dealing. Call the Better Business Bureau to verify their track record. Furthermore, have an attorney review the documents before you sign anything.

Build WriteWell asked:

Plan Your New Garage Design and Garage Building Size

Local Building Regulations Regulate Your Decisions

When building a new garage or adding on a garage addition, it is important to begin by consulting your local planning department for information about building permits, zoning regulations and set back requirements. Set back requirements regulate how close you can build to the road as well as bordering property. If you do not comply with these building regulations and obtain proper building permits where necessary, you may have to tear down the new building or relocate the garage. It sure costs less to do the work right the first time! To build your garage you will need building plans or construction plans and a plot plan, which indicates the garage building location on your land.

Building Inspectors Offer Great Advise Your local building inspector may be your best resource for free advise when planning the construction of a new garage. It is a good idea to consult with your local city building inspector before you start your new project. This may make all the difference in developing a great relationship for future projects. Their building inspectors advice is free, and they can help ensure your garage project is up to code.

Plan Your New Garage on Graph Paper

After you have made a list of every item to be placed in your new garage with the item sizes, Purchase graph paper to lay out the items and plan the total size you will need for your new garage.

What Size Garage Should I Build?

What size should you build your new garage building? A single car garage should be at least 12′ wide by 22′ deep. The minimum width for a 2 car garage building should be 20 feet, but you will need additional room if you’re planning on putting in a workbench or if you’ll need to store your kids bicycles, lawn mowers, tools or your work shop equipment. A 22′X24′ wide garage is a more optimal garage size. Whatever size you choose to build, 2009 pricing for a new garage has a cost from $26 - $38 dollars per square foot. Rick Ferguson asked:

GarageFloor.com Advises Homeowners to Winterize their Garages

With winter fast approaching, GarageFloor.com is advising homeowners to protect their garage floors. Snow, rain, and mud can be tracked into the garage causing damage to the concrete floor and increasing the chance for injury caused by a slippery surface.

Garage Floor Mats

Garage floor mats channel liquids and debris out of your garage. This cuts down on mud and dirt being tracked into the house. Garage floor. mats are also a time saver, reducing the amount of time spent cleaning stains and sweeping the garage.

Garage Floor Tiles

When people see of the checkered design of a car show room floor, they are looking at garage floor tiles. Most garage floor tiles are interlocking for easy installation and the color combinations can give your garage a classy look. Tiles are constructed of hundreds of durable columns which allow liquids to fall beneath them to the original floor. A wet/dry vac can easily vacuum up the debris back through the tile.

Containment Mats

Most garage floor stains come from cars. Parking your car on a containment mat will prevent oil and water from collecting on the concrete floor. Maintaining a dry, cool concrete surface will preserve the garage floor and keep it safe for foot traffic. Containment mats are an affordable alternative to covering your entire garage floor. They are quick and easy to assemble, taking just about 30 minutes.

Garage Floor Epoxy
